2 Lakes

This project was led by our Environment Dept and included fencing around both lakes to exclude stock, also retiring up to 50 metres from the edge of the lakes in some areas. Then planting of 17,000 native seedlings along the riparian margins, which are now very well established after 2-3 years of weed maintenance and blackberry control. This project has been a collaborative project between the Runanga, Land-owners, WRC, DoC, F&G and TALT.
